Six projects whose goals are to improve the lives of 9,000 women in Latin America are receiving more than $2.5 million in grant funding from the Walmart Foundation through its Latin America Women’s Initiative. The projects in Argentina, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Colombia and Peru are designed to help women escape poverty, support their families and improve their communities, according to Walmart. The largest grant, $500,000, was awarded to CHF International to help increase the incomes of 200 vulnerable women in Honduran urban areas by improving their business and legal skills and increasing their engagement in sustainable production value chains.
