Valensa Unveils Laxative Product Based On Plant Policosanols

March 10, 2011: 08:53 PM EST
Health supplement ingredient manufacturer Valensa International has launched a formulation of plant-based waxy policosanols and omega-3 fatty acids designed to promote regularity. The product, called Go Easy, features a micro-dispersion of natural, plant-based, non-GMO policosanols, cranberry seed extract and the company’s Tresalbio chia seed extract in a softgel. A preclinical trial found that the formulation increased bowel movements of test subjects by 50 percent daily. Policosanols, found naturally in leafy green vegetables, promote regularity by offering mild lubrication to food in the GI tract without unpleasant side effects. According to the company, a clinical trial of Go Easy also showed a reduction of cholesterol by 15 percent.
